Chores in Heima

Organize tasks. Share responsibility. Stay on track.

Heima makes it easy to manage household chores, family tasks, work responsibilities, or personal to-dos — all in one shared Space.

Whether you want a simple one-time task or advanced recurring rules with assignments and effort levels, Heima gives you full control.

What Are Chores?

Chores in Heima are tasks that can:

  • Be assigned to one or multiple people
  • Repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or on custom schedules
  • Include reminders and notifications
  • Be organized inside a shared Space (Family, Household, Work, or Personal)
  • Include an effort level to reflect how demanding the task is

Everything lives inside a Space, so everyone involved has access to the same overview.

Creating a Chore

Simple Chore (Quick Add)

  1. Go to Lists → Chore list → Chores or on the home screen tap Chores
  2. Tap + Add task
  3. Enter a task name
  4. (Optional) Add description, due date, and assign responsible person
  5. Tap Save

Perfect for:

  • “Take out the trash”
  • “Buy light bulbs”
  • “Call the electrician”

Advanced Chore (With Rules & Repetition)

Heima allows powerful customization when you need it.

You can:

✔ Set Repetition Rules

Choose:

  • Daily
  • Weekly (select specific weekdays)
  • Monthly
  • Yearly
  • Custom schedule

You can also:

  • Set a specific time of day
  • Limit number of repetitions
  • Make it repeat indefinitely

Example: Water the plants – Every Tuesday and Saturday at 18:00

✔ Assign Responsibility

Choose who should complete the task:

  • One person
  • Multiple people
  • Entire household

Everyone assigned will see the task inside the shared Space.

✔ Set Effort Level

Use the effort slider (1–10) to define how demanding the chore is.

This is helpful for:

  • Fair task distribution
  • Motivation systems
  • Tracking contribution over time

Examples:

  • Empty dishwasher → Effort 3
  • Deep clean bathroom → Effort 8

AI-Generated Chore Suggestions

Not sure where to start?

Heima AI can generate tailored chore suggestions for your household.

How it works:

  1. Tap Get Examples
  2. Describe your situation in a short prompt Example:

Family of 4 with two kids, no pets, house with garden.

  3. Heima AI generates relevant chore suggestions
  4. Add the ones you like with one tap

This is perfect when:

  • Setting up Heima for the first time
  • Moving into a new home
  • Creating a cleaning routine
  • Organizing responsibilities fairly

Notifications & Reminders

Heima keeps everyone on track.

  • You’ll receive a notification when a chore is due
  • If it’s not completed, reminders can be sent
  • All activity is visible inside the Space

This reduces mental load and avoids constant verbal reminders.

Managing Chores

From the chore overview, you can:

  • Edit tasks
  • View history
  • Delete tasks
  • See overdue items
  • Track recurring schedules

Overdue tasks are clearly marked so nothing gets forgotten.

Spaces: Shared or Personal

Chores live inside a Space, such as:

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family
  • 🏠 Household
  • 💼 Work
  • 👤 Personal

This keeps tasks organized and visible only to the relevant people.

Chores & ADHD-Friendly Structure

For many people — especially those with ADHD — managing tasks can feel overwhelming.

It’s not about laziness. It’s about cognitive load.

Heima helps reduce that load by:

  • Making expectations visible
  • Turning vague responsibilities into clear, concrete tasks
  • Setting automatic reminders
  • Creating predictable routines with repetition rules
  • Sharing responsibility so everything isn’t in one person’s head

Instead of remembering everything yourself, Heima remembers for you.

Recurring tasks like:

  • Taking out the trash
  • Cleaning the bathroom
  • Watering plants
  • Changing bed sheets

can run automatically in the background, with reminders when needed.

Why This Matters

ADHD often makes it harder to:

  • Prioritize tasks
  • Remember recurring responsibilities
  • Start tasks (even when you want to)
  • Keep routines consistent

By externalizing tasks into a shared system, you reduce mental friction and decision fatigue.

Less “Did anyone remember this?” More “It’s already scheduled.”

Gentle Structure, Not Pressure

Heima is designed to support structure — not create stress.

You can:

  • Adjust effort levels
  • Start small with simple chores
  • Build routines gradually
  • Use AI suggestions to avoid overthinking setup

Structure creates freedom.

When your system works, everyday life feels lighter.
