Can't sign in?
Famn signs you in through a secure page that opens in your phone's browser. Most sign-in problems come from what that page receives, not from your account. Work through the steps below in order.
1. Check the email address
Type the address exactly as you registered it, in lowercase and without spaces. Some phone keyboards capitalise the first letter of a field automatically. The sign-in page now uses an email field that turns this off, but if you copied the address from somewhere, look for a stray space at the end.
2. The password is not accepted, even after a reset
The reset itself almost always works. What fails is the next attempt:
- A password manager fills in the old password. Samsung Pass, Google and iCloud Keychain offer the saved entry, which is the password you just replaced. Clear the field and type the new password yourself.
- A typo in the reset form. The reset page now asks for the new password twice and refuses to save when they differ. If you reset before this change, request a new link and set the password again.
- The reset link is older than 24 hours. Request a new one from Forgot password? on the sign-in page; the newest link is the only valid one.
3. The browser shows your profile instead of returning to the app
If the sign-in page shows Continue as … or your profile page and Famn never opens, the browser is holding on to an old sign-in. Use Trouble signing in? Start over at the bottom of the sign-in page, or Reset browser sign-in data on the Famn welcome screen. This clears the sign-in cookies for Famn only, then tells you to go back to the app and try again.
4. Signed out without warning
Famn keeps you signed in for up to 90 days as long as you open the app now and then. If a refresh fails because you were offline or the service was briefly unavailable, the app now keeps your session and tries again later instead of signing you out.
